More Family Day pics...

Just hangin' out in the grass...

They all remind me of Vanna White in this one.

I never got around to posting the rest of these. Blogger screwed up the first time and I forgot to go back and re-do some more Family Day pics I wanted to post. Sara has been all over me about how much she enjoys the space program and loves pictures from the Cape. Final Frontier and all that stuff, so I thought I'd better get these posted.

Well, believe it or not, this is all I got for you! The girls tried a new fruit last night, pomegranate. Em and Soph really liked it. Paige was not understanding why we would eat something with the seed still in it.

We had lots of outdoor time Monday afternoon. After bouncing on the tramp for a while, we moved to the front yard to do some weeding. Yep, weeds are stillll growing here in late November! The girls made up a game where they run and dive into the grass. Pretty inventive eh? Here is Paige doing a glamour pose for ya.

Would you look at that? No tongue!!! All teeth!

I thought this pic was so pretty, but because the light was dusky outside, all my pics were blurry. If only someone would teach me, again, how to operate my camera.
I think she thinks if she stands real still the wig won't come off. If you were wondering why she was posing this way...

Saturday was spent cooking. We tried to have some fun with the girls since they love to "help" us in the kitchen. Mike found a couple of recipes that should have been fun to make. First we started with homemade soft pretzels. The girls couldn't handle putting the dough together, way too messy. But when the time came to roll it out, they did an excellent job.

Naked pretzel rolling.....

Princess pretzel rolling....

Fairy pretzel rolling...

At least they washed their hands!!!

Pretzels were massively enjoyed by all family members. We forgot about dinner after eating them!
Oh, and the other item cooked was whoopie pies. Let's just say I'm going to leave that to the Amish.....

Well, in light of my future full time employment options I went a little crazy with the child bonding experiences this morning. We spent the morning together talking w/ Grandma on the phone and then we took the dogs for a walk. Boda tried desparately to escape the stroller the whole time. Then we talked about riding to Publix (grocery store) in the bike cart. All the tires in the cart and on the bike were totally flat. So after Mike fixed it all up and we dusted it off and got on helmets and took a cute pic....it started raining. Paige was very upset. So here we are, at the computer. It already stopped raining but is still pretty cloudy out. We'll give it another shot in a bit....

Welcome back from Thanksgiving. Unfortuneately I do not have any pics of our lovely holiday because neither Mike nor myself took along a camera. Our holiday started on Wednesday when we met the Cross family at Universal early in the morning. We had a great day there and rode almost all the rides. There were no lines and the park was practically empty. Even the eateries were empty. I never let us buy lunch there but since it was a holiday we splurged and got some great park food. Did I mention we didn't have any traffic on the way to the park? But then again, that is not really a surprise to most of you who have had the pleasure of driving around down here.
After Universal we joined the Crosses at Disney's Boardwalk Hotel. We slept there in our own room Wednesday night and joined them for Thursday and Thursday night. They had been there since Sunday and stayed til Friday. It is a beautiful hotel and this is the second time we have all done this together. The first time we did it, Sophia was only 6 months old and it was kind of rough. It was much better this time around as far as the sleeping and eating arrangements! Thursday was great, we watched the parade on TV and cooked in the room's kitchen. We played a round of Princess UNO just before dinner. It was a gorgeous day and we ate with the balcony doors open. We watched a lot of football and then went down for hot chocolate after dinner. As expected the girls ate Thanksgiving pasta! We ate the regular fair however....turkey, sweet pots, regular pots, broccoli casserole, stuffing (last minute!), rolls, three types of cranberry junk!
The room was so great we had fireworks outside our balcony each night. We didn't even have to move out of bed to look at them! I told Stephanie to remember those room numbers! The girls loved the fireworks and ran from room to room from balcony to balcony screaming about them. Hopefully the other tennants were dining out and didn't mind! Stephanie, Morgan and I snuggled close that night and watched Grey's together. Very special. Since I don't just snuggle with anybody.
Anyway, we had a great time and laughed a lot! I haven't stopped eating leftovers! We came back home Friday morning and did NOT go shopping! Thanks Crosses!!!! Maybe if we're lucky, Morgan will post some pics that she took!!!

Last Friday was the Thanksgiving Feast at Em's school. I went up there to eat lunch with her. She was absolutely thrilled as you can tell from the pic....

Here is William again. He decided to tackle the whole turkey leg. We learned that day that William will be moving back to New York. Boo.

Here is what Em had for her feast. By "had" I mean what she put on her plate. What she actually ate was a grape and a bite of cheese. She loved the cranberry punch though!

Well, my mom was not here for Thanksgiving. BUT, she did make me a delicious pumpkin pie to eat all by myself!!!! Thanks MOM!
I passed my test!!!! You guys were right, I AM the smartest person alive!!! Just so you know, this does not make me a certified teacher. I can long-term sub now, which means I can be a sub for more than two weeks, which I can't do(or couldn't do) before. It also means I can get hired as a teacher but then I have to do some more test taking and some online type classes. But I made it over the first hurdle!!!! Yeah for me!

It's the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and I'm sitting at my house all alone! Mike is at work, Em is at the White House (over on Flamingo Rd), the girls are at school. The Schrader's are in the mountains. Mom is in MD. The Crosses were here but now are at Disney. I'm starting to get depressed! The fun starts tomorrow however. We are meeting the Crosses at Universal first thing Wednesday. We will be staying with them at The Boardwalk Hotel at Disney for Wednesday and Thursday nights. We are cooking Thanksgiving at the hotel. We did the same thing 2 years ago and it was really fun so we are doing it again. It is a great new tradition I want to do every year!
But for today I'm bored!

KSC/CCAFS Family Day

Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station had a Family Day today, so any badged employee could bring in up to 6 people with them. They normally don't allow anyone in without an individual access badge, so this was the girls' one shot to get up close to an active Space Shuttle and see the launch pads and some other facilities. The night before when we I asked Em if she wanted to go she said "No...it's boring. We already have pictures of the Space Shuttle!". Nice. This is the girl who said when she grows up she wants to work with Daddy at Lockheed!

Anyway, we drove down through the Canaveral National Seashore and went in through the north gate, whcih is a nice country drive. Daddy pointed on the big 50 ft dish on the radar on the access road, but the girls didn't really care. Daddy explained that NASA uses that site for debris tracking in case anything comes off the shuttle during a launch, and that really got them interested enough to yawn. Oh well. I know someone would appreciate all this, so next year it's just me and Greg for Family Day!

Dancing with the Tards

You know, when Slater mouths off and then does a really cheesy dance, he's lucky he doesn't end up on the wrong end of a Zack Attack.

Luckily, he discovers Buddy Bands...

Today there was a parade at Em's school. Her class had to dress as characters from "A Very Hungry Caterpillar." Em chose to go as a watermelon. Here is a shot of us leaving for school. They all have their fav vests on (Thanks Uncle Dave!). It was VERY cold this morning. No joke. Seriously. Like in the 50s.

Another brilliant shot of Soph saying cheese.

Here is Em as a slice of watermelon! We painted the costume ourselves!

This is William, my favorite little guy in Em's class. He's a sweetheart with a mohawk! He is the swiss cheese!

Well, this is Em's watermelon "costume." We did our best!

This is Em's best friend Becky, she was a caterpillar.

This is Mrs. Marple, the butterfly/teacher.

Last, but not least, Jarsali (Greg's Fav). Yep, that's her name. Jarsali. Sweet, nice little girl. Looks like she was also a caterpillar.
Here comes the marching band. They drove a bus over from their school, the middle school. The band is always my fav part of any parade! They were awesome!

This is Aunt Stef's class. This is the class I most often sub for when I go to Edgewater. They looked so cute in their train costume!!

There is Aunt Stef waving! Austin is looking at the camera, so cute!

There she is again, on their second loop!

Welcome to the first fire of the season. Remember that wood pile??? It's about to be history! This shot was after the ice cream so everyone was chilly and asked Dad to build a fire. They watched Cinderella in the renamed "Fireplace Room." (Still under construction).
After the dog beach Grandma took us to get some ice cream for dinner. Now, normally, I would have said no, this is a bad idea. BUT, the girls had a big lunch so I said ok. See...I'm flexible!

Sorry Mom! I had to post this pic cause you were making the funniest face!
