New Windows

Our new impact windows were installed today. So we're safe(r) from hurricanes next season. Since last year was supposed to be really bad and wasn't (in our area), I guess that the fact that they're calling for a mild season this year means we'll get 12 huge storms right on top of our house.

I should have taken some of the old windows that sucked for comparison. I'm sure I have some somewhere. Anyway, the new windows are impact resistant and super heavy. So now we don't hear every car that drives past our house. Just hte loud redneck-y ones. And there are still plenty of those, but it's much quieter in the house now. For once the dog belonging to the idiots that live behind us isn't barking, so I can't test for whether that dummy will still keep me up at night.

They didn't make a regular double hung in the size we needed for the bathrooms, so we had to get stupid casement windows in there.

The same window from the inside. There's Danny's house across the street.

Shuttle Launch

We all went to Cape Canaveral for the Shuttle launch on Sunday. I had a car pass to get everyone onto the base that I got through work so it's the closest we've been for a launch.

For whatever reason, blogger posted these pictures in reverse order.

Soph pretending she's not a trouble-maker!

Nice colors from the sunset launch.

A few seconds after launch and the shuttle is moving away from us... quickly.

Okay, we're here. You can launch it now.

Beach Time and Party Time

We went to the beach this morning. It was overflowing with pale tourists. It was also high tide so we had to sit very close to them. I snapped a few shots just to show the great weather but then I went back to sunning myself. After the beach all the girls went to a party so Mike and I hopped on the motorcycle and drove to Port Orange for lunch. We took Rt 1 up but I was brave and wanted to go on the highway on the way back. It was awesome and I could barely hold my head up with my gigantic new helmet on!

Emma not stopping to pose.

Paige playing her new ball game.

Mr. Turtle. I found him in the middle of the street by our house, brought him home to show the girls.

Jen and I getting crazy of course. You know us.

Cutie pie posing.

Abby's butt ruining the shot oh and the kids ruining the shot by looking pissed.

That's a little better.

Girls and Fin.

Jen and I made tons of green food.

Green waffles.

Happy early St Pats day.

Mo Gets a New Classroom! Now, if she can just keep her job!

Much to my surprise I was sent an email a couple of weeks ago saying my move date would be March 2nd. I wasn't sure where I was moving since I had not been told anything so I kind of didn't pay attention to it! Turns out I was getting a newly remodeled classroom because they didn't want to keep any of the classes out in the portables. Yippee! So I boxed up my tiny room of supplies and moved. Now we are up near the other fourth grades, so close to the front of the school. It is so nice not spending all that time walking to and from my portable. My new room is also twice the size of my old room. It is not very decorated in the following pics since it was FCAT week and our classrooms posters have to be removed if they contain educational info. So when I moved I just didn't hang up anything. FCAT is done and I will be sprucing up my room this coming week.

"I can go to skool now?"

Delta II Kepler Launch

Taken from the south causeway at NSB. Those green lights in the water on the lower right hand side are people shrimping off of the pier.

Cleaning the teeth

I had a cleaning scheduled today at the dentist and Paige went with me. The peeps at the dentist office love the girls and once we started with the cleaning Paige was recruited to help out. They gave her a mask and gloves and had her taking care of the suction. She did great, aside from the one time where she was paying attention to the TV and rammed the thing down my throat. And the one other time where she missed my mouth completely and stabbed me in the cheek...

I got this picture with the camera phone just after Doc Paige got ready to start.
