Pit Bull Attack Leaves Two Wounded

In case you hadn't heard, my poor babies were attacked yesterday as soon as we started our ride/walk down the street. Turns out it was the neighbor's dog, which had slipped it's collar (again) since it was just tied up in the backyard with no supervision. Anyway, it was a pretty bad scene and last for a few minutes. I am so surprised Fin and Jazz aren't more wounded. Jazz was only bitten a couple of times since he was not fighting back the pit had no interest in him. At one point near the beginning, Fin had a good hold of its eye socket but I made him let go (WHY??). Once Fin let go of him the pit bit him and Jazz over and over. 3 men and a woman finally stopped to help and call police. Even with the men and myself kicking and spraying pepper spray, it took several minutes to get him off of Finley. It was a total nightmare and I could go on and on with details but most of you know them already! They both went to the vet for a checkup. Fin had to be put on antibiotics and anti-inflammatories since his bites were bad. He mostly got bit on the ears and shoulder but no skin was broken on his shoulder.

Last night, after their baths and checkup. They were not amused.

We went to Walmart to buy new leashes since mine were covered in pepper spray. They got some pig ears and a santa toy too!

Jazz helps while Finley demonstrates how the pit pulled on his ear.

They didn't understand why they had to be tortured with a bath after they had just been tortured on the street!

Poor little boo boos!

Not too gruesome. He was so lucky not have had more scratches than he ended up with.

Another angle.

Under the chin.

Kiki shows what she would have done if she had been attacked.

"Why me?" Poor guy just stood there and took the bites. Didn't fight back at all and still got bite after bite on his ear and shoulder.

His ear was too covered in fur to see much!

"And then I went like this!" said Finley as he shows Kiki his exaggerated moves.

Boda was anxious to have a go at the pit. If she would have been on the walk, this blog probably would have been much more bloody.

My sweet sweats, covered in smeared blood!

Paige Becomes a Daisy

We went to our first Daisy meeting Monday night. Paige really wanted to join so I took her. Even though I'm not running the show I had a good time.
Paige takes her oath.

They decorated shirts to wear in the NSB Parade. Yes, that is an upside down fish. Their teacher had taught them how to make one in class that day so Paige decided to put it on her shirt!

Camping Trip...to the Backyard!

We camped out Saturday night with the boys. It was just cold enough to have a fire and roast marshmallows! The kids had a delicious breakfast of pumpkin muffins and then jumped in the hot tub for a morning swim!

They read funny stories at night instead of ghost stories.

Things got out of control when I wasn't looking and soon the marshmallow bag was empty. Then I discovered this. They had toasted them ALL for me to eat.

Jazz was not thrilled.

But Paige was!

Will demonstrates the proper way to burn my mallow. He knows I like them crusty!

Noah was explaining to me how his poppop Wayne makes smores.

Our Last Few Weeks...In Reverse!

Last night we attended the Volusia County Fair for the first time ever. I'm not a fan of carnies, what with their small hands and all, but I figured I would take the girls since they have been dieing to ride a ferris wheel and I will not get near a ferris wheel. Yep, they rode it by themselves. So our first pic is of poor Soph, passed out in the back seat and I pulled into the garage. She had fun.

This is Soph before she passed out from too much slushie. Strike the tractor pose.

It started pouring just as I was getting super nauseous from riding the rickety old rides, so we ducked into the animal ring. I love the smell of barns and all but even I could barely stomach the stench coming from this building. I'm sure this fatty below was not helping the cause... This is one fine pig...

And this one is so humble...

And this is one big....rooster.

I thought the coloring on this hen was just spectacular!

And this one just made me soooo hungry and then I needed a nap...

The ferris wheel and cotton candy, those were the two "must haves" at the fair.

So happy!

Now even Grace thinks you're over doing it!

We met our friends from school and soccer there. Grace is in Paige's class and her older sis, Emily. Mom, Heather and dad Dale.

Right as it started to rain and the candy started clumping together!

Ok, yes almost all my fair shots are blurry. My personal paparazzi was not there to assist so I had to take these Nigh,t Moving, Rainy weather shots all by myself!

The back of Em and Soph.

Grace and Paige's arm!

All five girls being escorted from the ferris wheel.

Riding the tiny little train.

We needed this ride after going on super fast spinning rides for 30 minutes!

They really loved this one! The rides lasted forever....did I mention that I was begging the operator to let me off?

Emily and Emma and little Soph in the corner.

BFFs.

Very satisfied customers.

I have no more quotes to describe their happiness.

Mom was in on this ride. Excuse the fair hair.

This was pretty funny. Dale tried to get me to dunk the clown but I can not throw, so he did it. The clown was so funny, luckily Dale didn't get offended by the rude remarks as a huge crowd gathered to see if he would fall....he didn't.

Here I was feeling pretty good. After going around in circles 200 times. Not so good.

The entrance to the fair!

Which brings us to last Saturday. Chris, Jen, Mike and I went to DJs and then to check out the night beach.

Earlier that day, Mike took Em to the science museum with the Schraders. Who would have thought you could take such a cool pic with my camera!

Em and Noah ringing up a pizza.

Before trick or treating.

Way way back to Sara's visit. Paige prepares to eat breakfast at the yacht club.

It was really bright, no glasses and I'm looking like a doof.

Sisters showing off their new matching purses.

Posing after a great breakfast thanks mom!

I was so excited! All those weeks of weight watchers and I got to eat whatever I wanted!

The girls love the yacht club and Sara!

Paige was really excited for the bacon. It wasn't turkey and it wasn't extra lean.

Sara had a birthday while she was here so we made her some treats!

With her lovie.
