Today we went to the Museum of Natural History. Pretty awesome but not as how I remembered it. They have so many museums in DC now that they have taken a lot of things I liked (such as caveman and Native American displays) and moved them to other museums! The girls wanted to see Rexy and Sacajawea. They got Rexy but I told them Sacajawea was probably at the American Indian Museum. It is weird to me that they call it that instead of Native American Museum. I mean doesn't my title sound more PC?? I guess there is a reason behind it. My favorite part of the day was seeing all the beautiful gems. Rooms and rooms full of different crystals. Em enjoyed a 6 minutes Mummy movie best. It was a rather creepy movie with visuals of dried up people but she liked it. I think Paige liked Rexy the best (she's not here so I can't ask her). Soph is still wondering why we didn't see Sacajawea! Mike liked the dinos best. Kathy and Nannie went as well so we had a whole big group.
After the museum and a sack lunch we walked around the MALL a bit, thru a sculpture garden. I really enjoyed the garden part but I didn't get the sculptures. Art is a bit over my head, especially sculpture. Mike took some great pics with his camera so hopefully we can post some of those tomorrow once we get ahold of a cord!
We then came back home and rested. Mike and the girls took a nap leaving Kathy and I to watch DR. Phil. He was quite enjoyable, I normally never get to watch his show. Kathy ran to the store for dinner and cooked us some great food. Between her and Gregory I have had some great meals this vacation. Danny took all these leftover cherries he had, pitted them and then Kathy cooked them with sugar and brandy. After it turned into a syrupy mess, Danny and I poured it over Choc Chip Ice Cream. I was in heaven! That concludes my great day....next on my list....Ikea and Water Park!
